I maybe insane, but I’m functional and love life. Installations, painting, photography and documentation are raw lifelines in my submergence beneath gushing pools of psychosis. Creative splintering ropes dragged me through the mental institution and compounding washes of irrational thought toward proper techniques of functionality. Anxious waves in this psychotic pool choke me with swirling analyses of social patterns. Essential documentation of those patterns in specific processes tow my mind toward azure surfaces. I’m contained in painted, pulsating, plastic boxes of inspiration created by Roberto Matta, Joseph Beuys, and Matthew Barney. Walls echoing painful shadows melt with my brushing amnesiac mind.
Recently my work has involved bands playing inside of layers of clear plastic boxes that I paint then destroy. This symbolizes my struggle to destroy the plastic boxes of social conditioning and psychosis that are choking our minds while the earth dies. nblume1@yahoo.com
